THE GOSPEL DECLARED IN CHRIST BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN.
2 Timothy 1:8-9 KJV
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; [9] Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
Titus 1:1-3 KJV
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; [2] In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; [3] But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour.
John 17:5 KJV
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
These scriptures and many others are there like them which prove beyond doubt that God accomplished His purpose in Christ before the foundation of the world. He fully and completely fulfilled His work perfectly in Christ before He stepped out to lay the foundation of the world. This is the first part that we shall see, what God did in Christ before the world began.
Ephesians 1:3-5 KJV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: [4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [5] Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.
That again clearly attests to this truth that God accomplished His perfect will in Christ before permitting anything else to come up. He finished His work in Christ and sealed it before laying the foundation of the world, and that is what we desire to see that we may have fellowship with Him in His perfect work.
And first Paul says clearly that God gave us grace purposely in Christ Jesus before the world began. So, that is one thing that He accomplished in Christ, providing grace for all who will hear him. So by and by we shall see how that grace was provided unto all who would believe before the world began.
But remember this, that before you ever heard the gospel of your salvation, before you were ever born in this world, God already fulfilled His work of saving you by grace in Christ before the foundation of the world. God saved it before you knew anything about it! All you are doing is accepting it! Amen!
God already answered every of your prayer before the world began! All you have to do is to believe it! All you have to do is to hear the good news and believe it! That gospel comes fully packed with everything! It is short of nothing. The preaching of the gospel to you is the presentation of a finished work, all freely done for you in Christ even before the world began! All your prayers were answered! All your needs were taken care of! All for you to do is to believe the gospel! To believe the good news! The good news about the grace given to you in Christ before the world was there!
All your desires, all your needs, all your wants were taken care of in Christ before the world began! Believe and all becomes yours! Say, isn’t that good news! Say, isn’t that a great gospel! Say, isn’t that the glorious gospel! What? That all things God freely did for you in Christ before the world began, and he didn’t just do it and leave it there for you to struggle to reach it, but that after doing all of it, He laid it in your laps! You don’t have to move an inch from where you are to receive it! You don’t have to seek the way of getting there! You don’t have to ask to be given, but all was fully done for you and all was laid in your bosom and in your lap before the world began!
… but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; [9] Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
How plain is that scripture! The gospel according to the power of God who has saved us first, then called us, called us not according to our works but according to His own good purpose and of His grace that was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began! Oh, what a news is that! Oh, what a gospel message! Oh, how glorious the gospel! How sweet and pleasant are the tidings! How it should make you leap like an hart! How it should fill you with jubilation to last externally! How your heart should be overflowing with love and joy unspeakable!
The grace of God meant for your perfect and complete salvation was given to you in Christ before the world began, not just before you were saved, not just before you were born, but before the world began! And that did He not according to your desires, not according to your prayers, not according to your works but according to His own purpose! Yes, according to His own good pleasure! For it’s His delight to save you and crown you with glory! Hallelujah! It is a pleasure for Him to see that you are attended with every good thing!
This is nothing of your business! All you have to do is to receive it! It was done and finished. You don’t add on anything! You don’t struggle to remove anything! You simply acknowledge it!
… Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness…
All you do is to acknowledge it! That is accept it! All to do is to acknowledge that you receive it! You don’t pray to get it! You don’t ask to receive it! Why? It is already given you! All your struggles have nothing to add nor subtract. It was finished and sealed so that nothing should be added nor subtracted. Your salvation was done, finished and sealed, packed and laid in your laps while you were in Christ before the world began! All you are to do about it is believe it! Accept it! Acknowledge it! Rejoice in it! Confess it! Testify about it! Shout in it! Praise God for it! Glorify Him for what He did for you before the world began! Believe and rejoice in it! All finished, packed and laid in your laps!
… who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: [4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love…
He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings according as He has chosen us in Christ before the foundation of the world! He chose us for that end! He appointed us for those blessings! He purposed it in Himself that He will do that for us without any failure! That He will bless us with all spiritual blessings found in heavenly places in Christ Jesus! According to the glory of His grace alone!
This I say, isn’t it a glorious gospel to you who believe! Isn’t it great news for your soul! Isn’t it beyond a wonder! Isn’t beyond a marvel! Isn’t it amazing grace! Isn’t it unspeakable! He has done all for you and freely in Christ and covenanted with Himself with a sworn statement in Christ Jesus that surely in blessings he will bless you and in multiplying he will multiply you! He has already blessed you in Christ Jesus with all spiritual blessings that are found in heaven! Acknowledge it! Believe it! Accept it! That is indeed glorious news! Most glorious news! He has done it not that you may do anything in return for Him! No! Whether you do anything or not it has no meaning! He is the Alpha and the Omega! And to what He has done you don’t add anything! It is finished and it is meant for you!
What do you do then? You rejoice in it! You dance in it! You shout in it! You acknowledge it and hold it tightly in your bosom! You rest in it and refresh yourself with all of it! Mark this very well: he has not done all this for you so that in return you may do something for Him, no! It’s His joy to do it for you! It is his delight to do it for you! It is His satisfaction to provide all freely for you to joy in it!
Ephesians 1:5-6 KJV
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, [6] To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
All is for Himself and by Himself! You don’t give salt to your cow expecting it to thank you and praise you. That is not the underlying purpose why you provide that for it, yet you might be doing it because you are expecting a lot of milk from it, yet all it is is what you do for it unconditionally. It is much more than that with God and you. He loves you so much that He has done all for you not expecting you to do anything for Him in return! Only that you may enjoy it! And the more you enjoy it and delight yourself in the fattiness thereof the happier He becomes with you! The more you eat and drink and rise up to play and dance the more He is pleased with you!
Ephesians 2:4-10 KJV
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) [6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: [7] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. [10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Notice it clearly. This it which I am saying to you, that all was done for you in Christ, even the very workmanship of what you should be as a child of God was done and finished for you in Christ. That is your make up, your framework, your nature, your characteristics, your ways and your works were all finished in Christ, even your calling was finished in Christ!
Besides that, your stature of perfection, what manner of man are you to be in your heart, in your soul, in your spirit and in your mind, all that was done fully for you in Christ. Your perfect stature in righteousness, in holiness, in uprightness, in meekness, in lowliness, in humility, in loving kindness, in bowels of mercies, in charity, in temperance, in godliness, in faithfulness and all the rest was done for you and finished and given to you in Christ before the world began. And in fact you are commanded not to add anything nor subtract anything! All that you should be inside-out are given you freely in Christ, all you have to do to begin enjoying it all is to acknowledge it, believe it, confess it, testify about it, tell others about it. Amen!
Isnt that wonderful news? Isn’t that great news? Isn’t that thrilling and stirring news! Isn’t that a glorious gospel to you! Isn’t that a happy morning, eternal, clear and serene!
Besides this, your inheritance was finished and given you in Christ before the world began!
Ephesians 1:5 KJV
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will…
That is your predetermined destination! That is where you are headed to. That is where you must end, not you may, no! But you must! It all predetermined for you to be adopted in that position! That is your position given to you in Christ before the foundation of the world! That is the position for you! It is already yours!
Is that not grace? Rich grace? Is that not love? Great love! Is that not a glorious gospel? Great news! Isn’t that great tidings of good, good and only good things for you! Accept it! Acknowledge it! Believe it! Love it! Rejoice in it! Rise up and sing and dance in it! The great gospel! The gospel of the Kingdom of God! The Kingdom of God in Christ Jesus for you! Isn’t that wonderful!!!
Now, besides that, a rich inheritance is already allotted for you in Christ Jesus, and your name is already marked there! That position and that inheritance already has your name! All have always been yours from before the foundation of the world! Whether you know anything or you don’t! Whether you understand anything or you don’t! All is there and ready for you and your name is written there, that that is your place!
Ephesians 1:11 KJV
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
1 Peter 1:3-4 KJV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.
That inheritance is already there, reserved for you, an inheritance which fades not, incorruptible, eternal. That is already allotted for you. It is meant for you. You can’t do anything about it. You can’t merit it. It is all given you by grace. A great rich inheritance reserved in heavenly places in Christ Jesus for you before the world began! Now, the preaching of the glorious gospel awakens you to it! That is all! You are being awakened to realize your position and inheritance in Christ so that you may enter in and begin to rejoice right away! Not to wait any longer, but to enter in now and begin dancing in it!
All has been done for you in Christ! You were in there foreknown, elected, predestined, called, preserved, justified and glorified! The preaching of the gospel is to awaken you to realize your position so that you may acknowledge it and begin rejoicing in the blessedness of it!
1 Corinthians 1:30 KJV
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Christ was made all things for you before the world began. Your place in him is a reality, not an imagination! You are destined for that. And that is what the glorious gospel informs you today.
Now, having seen your glorious calling and that which is afore prepared for you which the gospel makes known to you, and having seen the prepared way by which you enter in, that all is grace plus nothing and subtract nothing, we shall next look at what God indeed did in Christ so as to prepare and provide all these great things for you. So what did God exactly do in declaring this great news in Christ?
First, let us again remind ourselves about what the gospel presents to us in fullness. It presents to us the Kingdom of God, eternal and perfect in every way. It is this Kingdom which is made sure for us in Christ. And this eternal Kingdom first is invisible and consists of invisible things. And it is these invisible things that makes reality. What is life if there is no joy? What is a big house if there is no peace in it? What good are many people around you if there is no happiness? What good are riches if there is no assurance? It’s invisible things that makes life real, not the visible! What good is money to a dying man! What good are riches to a hopeless man? What is meats and drinks to a troubled man? See?
Yet, if your heart were full of love, joy, peace, assurance, hope, happiness, etc., you will sleep in a grass-thatched leaking house so sweetly and comfortably than the richest man on earth! These are true riches! Love, joy, peace, assurance, righteousness, holiness, truth, hope, salvation, etc. Remember, there is no real joy in the world! Never! All they have is a feeling caused by a sensation because of someone looking at what he is possessing. But it is certain that all worldly possessions are a lie and will finally vanish away. Then any joy brought about by such vanity is a vanity in itself! It is a deceiption. If you find a man happy because of the riches he owns in this world, or because of his position, or his power, popularity or fame, he is the most deceived earth has ever brought forth! These things shall all vanish away leaving him naked and destitute! Whatever joy that anything of this world seems to give is a fading flower! It is a shadow! It is a lie! Whatever peace that anything of this world seems to promise is the biggest lie ever told! For as sure as these worldly things will fade away so is such joy, peace, love, comfort, happiness, life, etc., they all vanish away leaving the man who trusted in such lies hopeless, destitute, poor, wretched and miserable!
The hope of this world is a mere lie! That is the simple truth. The most deceived are church men, especially church leaders. They rest their hopes on their works, how miserable are these men! Flesh and all its works are a flower on a rock! Flesh and all its works shall vanish away and be no more! The hope of such religions is sinking sands!
All the Kingdoms of these world and all their riches shall vanish away! All who have built their hopes on such are most miserable indeed! Religions and all their works shall vanish away. All who have built their hopes on such things are most miserable! Churches and all their works shall vanish away! All who have built their hopes on such are most miserable! Clergymen and all their works shall vanish away, all who have built their hopes on such are most miserable! Flesh and all pleasures shall vanish away, all who have built their hopes on such are most miserable! Earth and heaven that now are shall vanish away, all who have their hopes on such are most miserable!
But there is one Kingdom which has no beginning and shall have no end, and the same Kingdom is perfect all round, and those who shall be found in it shall not want anything at all. All things needed are perfectly present and the joy thereof has no end! What a Kingdom! What a foundation! What a rock! What an assurance! And that is the great news that I declare to you today! For today I present to you the true Kingdom whose riches, treasures and life has no end, and there all things are yea and amen! A Kingdom sure and true. A Kingdom true and real. A Kingdom full of life without an end in which everything is provided in a manner as to make you most happy; and all are suited for your joy, peace, comfort and love untold. It is the Kingdom which the Father prepared for you before the world began.
The foundation of this Kingdom that I am presenting to you today is the eternal realities of the one who is eternal, and He is the cornerstone and headstone thereof.
1 Timothy 1:17 KJV
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
As long as there is a King who is eternal, then there is a Kingdom of that King which is also eternal! And as long as the King thereof is invisible, then the things that make up His Kingdom are also invisible. And as long as the King thereof is perfect, then all that makes up His Kingdom are perfect! There is the rock for you! Step on it! Believe it! Acknowledge it! Love it! Seek for it diligently to be fully awakened to it!
Here are some of the realities of that Kingdom: a real substance of joy which is eternal, a real substance of peace which is eternal, a real substance of love which is eternal, a real substance of treasures from which riches can be found which is eternal, a real substance of life which is eternal, and many such real substances that are perfect and eternal. These are real substances!
But above all, the cornerstone of the foundation of this great Kingdom is the eternal God who has always been and will always be and all these things are not on Him but in Him! And He also is the headstone thereof, and as its King, He is the provider of all things within this eternal Kingdom. A Kingdom of eternal life, a Kingdom of eternal riches such as joy, love, peace, comfort, happiness, etc.; a Kingdom whose atmosphere is alive; a Kingdom whose things are all alive. A Kingdom whose atmosphere is full of delights, full of thrills, full of pleasantness, full of sweetness, full of mellowness, full of refreshments without an end and of which you can’t be satiated with: full of love tripping into the heart like honey from a honeycomb; full of the presence of the Spirit of life which ever baths the hearts in an endless love and divine assurance. That is the Kingdom that I seek to awaken you to today! Is that not good news? Great news? Glorious news? Yes, well did Paul call it the glorious gospel of Christ! Receive it! Accept it! Acknowledge! Enter in! Dance in it! Rejoice in it like David! Delight in it! Desire it above all other things! Throw the rotten things of this evil world away! They are not worth a moment of your life in comparison to what by the help of God I have set before your eyes!
This is God’s eternal Kingdom before it was manifested. It is consisted in pure, perfect eternal things without a beginning and without an end, without father, without mother, without beginning of life and without ending of the same. Things holy, things true, things rich in everyway, things exceedingly fruitful in every way, things lovely, tender, kind, faithful and true. Things which are good and only good. This is the Kingdom of my Father who is in heaven and this Kingdom is all in Him and part of Him the way your body, heart, spirit and mind are part of you. Behold, I set this Kingdom before your eyes today. Oh, what a glorious Kingdom is set before your inner eyes! Oh, that your eyes were open! Oh, that your ears could hear! Oh, that these things could enter into your heart! You will never be earth-bound one more second!
Behold today I delightfully introduce to you my Father who is in heaven! Look ye blind and see! Hearken ye poor deaf and hear! Accept Him! Acknowledge Him! Believe Him! Receive Him! Confess Him! Embrace Him! Love Him! Cherish Him! Follow Him! Submit to Him! And you will never lack anything good. For behold His goodness all set before you this day so that you have no excuse.
He is the source of love, pure love, true and real, without beginning and with no end. What is love? Both noun and verb. As a noun He is the source of the very substance of love and it is that which sweetens the heart, quenches the thirst in heart, it is like a honeycomb, so is my Father which is in heaven, the fountain of divine love for your heart in truth and faithfulness. He is the source of love, real love, and this is the fruit of eternal life whose waters are as pure wine upon the tongue, queching the thirsting soul, for as love is for the heart to quench its thirst, so is the water of life for the soul. So my Father is life, eternal life, pure, holy and true and thus He is the source of the river of the water of life. The waters thereof never dries up, never reduces in amount. What a Father He is! The fountain of all good things whose goodness is immeasurable. Thus is His name Elohim, a breath of life that is of immeasurable strength and exceedingly fruitful beyond measure.
He is eternal because He is perfect and true. For how can truth begin anyway. For if truth did begin then what was there before it? Look at it again. When light is absent darkness covers all, therefore if truth were absent at any given moment then it means the lie was present, but a lie is that which is opposite to the truth, it is opposite to truth, it is like negative two. Before you ever can have negative two you must first have positive two. So therefore a lie cannot be there first! No way of a lie being the first. Truth must be there first before a lie can come up. For a lie impersonates the truth. Thus truth is eternal! But the lie is not, because the lie came in only after truth was revealed. And that truth was revealed it means it was there but invisible!
So is my Father who is in heaven. In His eternal state He is perfectly invisible and thus hidden from all. What is He? The fountain of all goodness! Amen! So have I today declared Him to you. What is that fountain? An invisible living breath whose strength and fruitfulness are immeasurable. Thus He is my Elohim! Yes, my God and my faith in whom I wholly trust. The source of all goodness! Invisible and yet there. The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering and abundant in loving kindness and faithfulness. This is my God and my rock.
Then you will ask me, What is the nature of this breath? Spirit! The eternal Spirit.
Now, having seen Him who is eternal, the King eternal, immortal, who is invisible yet His presence can be felt, let us see what He did in Christ before the world began.
And first, who is Christ? His son, His only begotten son from His own seed which was ever in Him because He is a Father, the only true Father who is exceedingly fruitful. Therefore from Himself He begat His Son, His beloved son. That was the first thing He ever did.
Being an eternal Father, His son was ever in Him as a seed. So, how was He begotten? How did He beget Him? That is what He did in Himself before the world began. And this is what we shall see in part two of this first fold.
