What meaneth this great flood?
Yes, Hear Ye Him!
Why? The sea was not part of the original creation of God but came in as a result of the fall. Yes, it was a by-product of the fall of angels. In other words, the sea was not a creation from the perfect will of God, but it was only permitted to come in as a result of the fall. Which fall is that? The fall of the angels who sinned!
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment…2Peter 2:4
These angels who sinned did so before the world of Genesis chapter one verse two. They sinned in Genesis chapter one verse one, and their sin resulted into Genesis chapter one verse two world of the sea: God created heaven and earth in the beginning. Period.
Then after the beginning, after the angels had sinned, then we read >>> And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2
Yes, this breath-taking sea that swallowed the earth was as a result of the fall of angels. By their sin the earth was made formless and void, and it was surrounded with a great deep of water, the waters of death; and upon these waters was a thick darkness. Just like what happened in the days of Noah, when the sons of God sinned by going into the daughters of men, the serpentines, for the waters broke forth from some great deep and filled all the earth. So, did it happen after creation, during the period of Genesis chapter one verse one, when the angels sinned, and that resulted into Genesis chapter one verse two. But the deep of Genesis chapter one verse two was by far greater than that of the flood of Noah.
Remember, a flood always means overflowing judgement that brings about an end of some world. The end of the kingdom of Israel and Judah was by a flood of armies:
Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks: And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel. Isaiah 8:7-8
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:26
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19
Why was the Spirit of God moving upon the waters of the great deep? To rise up a standard against the enemy, to ensure that he doesn’t go beyond the decreed position. What standard is that? The lion, the calf, the man and the eagle standard.
Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof. Jeremiah 46:8
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl. Jeremiah 47:2
But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies. Nahum 1:8
Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand. Isaiah 28:1-2
No doubt then, that the great flood of the great deep of Genesis chapter one verse two came in as a judgement upon the world of angels after they had fallen from the truth, for the first world was placed under them, but by sinning it was swallowed up by the mighty flood.
Now, what was the sin of these angels who fell in the very beginning? It was the transgression of desolation; for by their fall, the earth was made desolate; that is without form and void, with a great deep upon it, with a thick darkness on its face.
Now, what was that transgression of desolation? Yes, it was on this wise, these angels were ministers of God, appointed to minister to the Most High God in things pertaining to the brazen altar, the same brazen altar was the earth that was created after heaven.
For, in the beginning, by the Lamb, Elohim created heaven and the earth only; and the earth was made an altar for offering unto God sacrifices as the savours of life without slaying the offering. How? By the angelic flame, the savours in the offering are converted into sweet odours, and the same flows upwards to the throne of God.
Now, upon this brazen-altar-mountain was a laver of water upon the top thereof, and the same water was as clear as crystal, thus it was called a glassy sea, for the water thereof was as a big ice, a great iceberg, which continually melted without reducing, breaking up into streams towards the four corners thereof, and it vaporized into a vapour that was swept by a cool breeze up the mountains forming clouds, and falling as snow upon the great iceberg, by which its size was maintained.
But heaven that then was, consisted of spiritual worlds like a lion, a calf, a man and an eagle, and in between was a place for the tabernacle. The earth was an altar that was made for the offering of sacrifices. This was a perfect earth of Genesis chapter 1:1, before Genesis chapter 1:2 came in as a result of the fall of angels.
Now, by the offering of those sacrifices by these ministers of the altar, the powers of evil that were responsible for the imperfection of the non-existent worlds were held at bay; that is by the continual burnt offering, morning and evening, upon that altar called earth, the powers of darkness could not come into being, to swallow the earth and the brazen sea. For by the offering of the lamb, God had placed a boundary between the good and the evil so that He only allowed the good to exist. He then appointed a ministry for the angels of that order, the brazen altar order, by which the enemies of that which is good could not come in. So, He gave them statutes to keep so as to ensure evil does not spring up; and by that these angels were put on a test, whether they would keep the word and live or fail to keep and die. For all creatures of knowledge must be tested to prove them. Even the Son of God was also tested and proved from the very onset.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
You can ask how he was tested?
Isaiah 53:1-5 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
What was that ordinance which they were to keep? It was their own statutes of their goodness, the best that they could do to offer a memorial sacrifice unto God. By that they were protected from evil that was still non-existent, and they were warned clearly that if they will fail to walk perfectly according to the laws of those offerings then evil will spring up and swallow everything pertaining to them. In general, they were to maintain burnt offerings and memorial offerings upon the altar called earth according to the commandments which they were given, offering everything in due season, with no addition or subtraction.
Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee. Exodus 20:23-24
That is what these angels of the altar were charged with, for the law given to Israel pertains to angels, and as the angels fell and caused a flood to swallow all that world, so also Israel fell from the law and a flood of armies swallowed their land. It can’t be any plainer. If you go for the law (knowledge of letters) instead of grace, then be sure a flood is going to swallow you soon, for no creature has ever been able to protect itself by the law according to its strength. Our victory is vouchsafed in the faith of God’s Word of promise, so that it is no longer based on our works, but on His works. And since He is perfect, He perfects us banishing away all our imperfections. By Him then we overcome our enemies who are stronger than us, but He is stronger than they.
Look closely in this world, evil always thrives and overcomes all good swallowing it up. Whether in nature, in religion, in politics or commerce, and whether in social affairs, evil always dominates and as a flood swallows up all the good as a monster.
No church founded on good principles of some man has ever stood the mighty currents of evil. Moses did his best to lay a strong foundation for Israel as a church in the wilderness, yet before long, in the very presence of Moses, all the good in that church was swept away by the floods of evil men that sprung up from their very midst, and all the multitudes together with Moses, Aaron and Miriam were swallowed down in the wilderness.
Joshua led the children born along the way into the promised land, teaching them and urging them to hold firm on the foundation laid by Moses for their own good, but before long Baalism overtook them and they fell into idolatry. This same thing kept repeating in cycles throughout the Old Testament times till finally the whole nation of Israel rejected their Messiah and were swallowed by Gentile floods.
Then the New Testament church was founded by the apostles, and they did their best teaching and admonishing the church to keep to the foundation of faith in the Word. But before long, in the very apostolic times, evil sprung up, not from outside the church, but from within the very apostolic church and before long, she was swept away by the mighty currents. She is the present Catholic church, deep under the darkness and waves of the great deep!
Luther tried hard, real hard, to lay a new foundation of a church based on the teachings of ‘The Just shall Live by Faith’. She never lasted long till her foundations were swallowed by the mighty currents of the great deep of evil which sprung from the midst of the very Protestant church!
What of the holiness churches from the revivals of Wesley and his contemporaries? The Methodists, Baptists, Nazarenes, etc. How the great Gospel teachers tried hard to lay strong gospel foundations for those churches, but yet, before long, the angels (members of those churches) had already fallen and gave way to the great evil powers, they gushed in like great floods, and before long these women were swept away by the great currents of worldliness. In the great deep under the waves of the world they now lie, never to see a ray of light again!
Oh, what of the Pentecostal churches? Did they survive the currents? Hardly for 10 years! Just in the very time of their revivals, evil broke out from their very midst and gushing with great waters of death, swallowed them up, making all of them formless and void and now a great darkness prevails upon that deep. What deep is that? The miserable Pentecostal religious world, they are miles and miles under the great ocean of evil.
What of the seventh church, the church founded by Branham? Oh, how he tried hard, labouring night and day to lay a strong foundation for his church, the foundation of the Word. He preached and taught the truth as revealed in Christ and laid a good foundation for them, yet before he left the scene evil had already crept into his church and prevailed upon it through carnal men in her midst, and before long the fountains of the great deep were broken and the windows of heaven were disclosed, raining upon her great floods of evil, and death and hell carried the day. Deep in the mire of the great sea, Laodicea went headlong. She has never seen another daybreak ever since, yet she had been founded upon the best foundation that angels could built. Which angels? The seven church age angels! There is their best, at the end of their season; Laodicea is their harvest! How formless and void she is!
For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Psams 11:2-3
Why? God through the ages permitted the work of every man, every messenger, every angel, every servant of God to be tested by the floods of evil so as to be proved. And here we find the best of what an angel could do — the angel-messenger to the church of Laodicea is the brightest of that rank — yet his church is flooded and overthrown so miserably that she is under the chains of darkness, yet like Catholicism, they go bragging that they are the best of all churches, the very bride of Jesus, yet she seats naked, blind, poor, miserable, wretched and don’t know it.
So be it known unto you that no foundation laid by any man or angel will stand the test of evil currents. Look at the earth closely, at the farms: which plants thrive most and on their own? Evil ones! They are not planted neither weeded yet they thrive and grow increasing night and day. But the good plants can never grow own their own, and even after being planted they must be nurtured day and night before they can survive the torrents of evil all around them.
Imagine if hens were let loose to take care of themselves in the wild, within one year you may never find a hen on earth! Yet the profitless evil birds thrive without being cared for.
What of stones, the useless rocks are everywhere strewed, but where can you find the gold, the silver, the precious stones? You have to real dig and toil!
What am I saying? Nothing good in creation can maintain its goodness by its own strength! God has allowed all to miserably fail so that they all can stand and look to Him and acknowledge Him, that it is Him alone who can save and protect creatures from the mighty currents of evil. And Laodicean church of Brother Branham has proved it beyond any doubt, for she was founded upon the best of all that angels can built, yet she is the most fallen of all churches. The most formless and desolate of all churches!
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Revelation 3:14-18
So, then what shall we do? Yes, that is what God wanted us to finally ask, to stand in that dilemma not knowing where to look to, then He says,
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isaiah 45:22
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Isaiah 43:11
Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Isaiah 45:21
Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me. Hosea 13:4
What is He going to do then? That is what finally Brother Branham asked under that message he preached called ‘The spoken word is the original seed’. Then God told him to pick up the pen and write, and all that he was given can be summed up in the following scripture:
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:17-19
Who will build the church which cannot be swept away by the floods of death? Jesus Christ Himself! Not some angel of the seven church ages. When? At His second coming! For Peter means a small stone, a capstone, and by the revelation of Jesus as the headstone, that is by the Godhead revelation, He builds a church which the gates of hell cannot prevail upon. Where will that church be? On earth! She will be tested all round by the gates of death, yet like heavenly Jerusalem, she will stand!
