Part One Sermon Two

This is Chapter Five of the Book and Sermon 2 of “Hear Ye Him”

Facts are as unchangeable as a mountain! Kicking against them only bruises your toes! Quite painful!

“Facts are unchangeable!” Proclaimed Watchful Meek, as he stepped forward onto the platform, as he bathed in the glory from the face of the king immortal, eternal yet invisible. He brought it to the very mark, to the very point, so much that there was no way any could escape it. What was it? Yes, that to escape doom, you must acknowledge, uphold, and confess the truth, no matter how bitter the pill is.

“Facts cannot be altered, they are as unchangeable as the sky, as unmovable as a mountain,” he continued, “they cannot be bent to suit one’s school of thought; they cannot be erased to suit one’s desire; they cannot be destroyed to pave way for one’s lies; arguments cannot slight them. Whoever dishonours them ends in dishonour; whoever denies them ends up being denied. Whoever despises them is despised. Whoever rejects them is rejected. Whoever fouls them is fouled. Whoever soils them is soiled. Whoever tries to erase them is erased. Whoever attempts to destroy them is destroyed. Oh, how strong are they! How unbeatable are they! Try it? You’ll be crashed to powder.

“And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. Mat 21:44 

“Never attempt to stand in the way of truth; the whole truth is God’s word. It shall stand, come rain, come shine. No way of preventing it from being fulfilled. For if it falls on you, you go into powder, but if you fall on it, you are broken into pieces. What does it mean by falling on it or it falling on you? Trying to smite it or being smitten by it.

“Here it is: And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died. 2Sam 1:15 And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him. 1Kin 2:29

“Facts tell the truth about anything. The truth concerning anything is unchangeable and can never be erased. What you have done, it has been done by you and has gone down on record that you have done it, no matter how much you endeavour to change it by speaking lies, it eternally remains the same that you did it! You are simply fighting a losing battle, for it is impossible to alter the truth! Why? It is a fact that you did it! facts cannot be changed by any man! They stand as they are; like mountains they can’t be moved. What are facts? Pieces of truth.

“Yes, you have lied by covering up what you did, but the fact remains that you did it! that is all, and you will never erase it! The only way out is to own it. It is eternal, it is unchangeable, it cannot be removed from you by any of your means. After you have laboured through it all, trying to cover up, it remains that you did it, and it was wrong for you to have done such a foul thing. The only way to go safely through is to own up! Repent! That is the only remedy. Trying any other way out is to kick against the pricks. You have covered from man’s eyes, but not from God’s eyes. So don’t fool yourself. The truth will still speak out against you when your day in court comes.

“What? It is a fact that you did it, and it stands there against you, ready to frog-march you to the judgement bar of the eternal truth and there condemn you. You can’t escape it! It will shout at you the day you will be in the dock, that you did it.

“Oh, wretched man, how will you escape it by telling lies, adding insult to injury? Let me tell you, you will never make a day about it. You will never make ends meet about it. It will catch up with you some day. Your Payday Sunday is at hand. Your day in court is hastening on and you will be judged for having committed two evils: you committed a wicked thing and then proceeded to cover it. You stand twice indicted!

“Own up! Repent! That is the only way out. Confess the truth! Yes, that you are a thief. That you are a liar. That you are a fornicator. That you are a corrupter. That you have killed. That your boasting is a foul nature. That your pride is sinful. That your bragging is hateful. That your ways are slippery. Own up! Of course, you have no otherwise. The sooner you own up and repent, the better. The more you cover up, the worse it becomes. Get it clear! Facts can’t be bend! They are too strong for your feeble hands!

“Oh, dear me! It is a fact that God is there. If you think otherwise, you stand indicted. You can’t erase that fact. He will soon meet you face to face and prove to you how painful your assumptions are. Yea, He is there, eternal, omnipotent, immortal, invisible, the only living God! Whether you believe it or not, it doesn’t matter. He is there, has been there and will be there. Your heart tells you so. Stop fooling yourself. You can’t bribe your conscience to accept your atheistic notions. The truth still stands shooting out of your own heart. It is a fact. Unconquerable it remains. God is there! And commands you to repent.

“It is a fact that only God can save. He saves through Jesus Christ His first begotten. He is the sacrifice that takes away sin from your soul. For him to be your Saviour, you must stand and own him up. There is no trick about it. You must come to him confessing your sin. You have to come down into simplicity, down into humility, and own up that you are a foul sinner!

“Of course, every man born of a woman is a sinner to begin with. There is only one way out of it. Own up to be forgiven! You have no other way! Nothing else has worked; don’t deceive yourself. There is no way of cheating your way out of sin. God provided the only remedy. Jesus is that remedy. To apply that remedy, you must stand tall and identify yourself with Jesus as you repent from your foul sinful life. You can’t make it otherwise! You can’t fool with facts! They will handcuff you and hand you to God’s officers of justice from whence you will never escape. Be wise and face it now when in cool blood.

“It is a fact that your religion cannot help you in this matter of sin. Only Jesus can. Stop fooling yourself. Your knowledge cannot help you about this matter before us – the question of sin. Your works cannot afford salvation for you. Old Cain tried it and it backfired. Your offering cannot buy you out of sin! Your preacher or pastor is as helpless as yourself. Only Jesus can save! He saves by the blood he shed on Calvary. Any other way is a failure to begin with. This is a fact. You can never bend it to suit your religious notions.

“Yes, only Jesus can save. He is the perfect sacrifice offered for all sinners to be saved. If a man could have been able to wiggle out of his sins by his works, then Jesus would have not died on the cross. He died to set you free from sin. That is the only remedy there is for your sinful state. If you repent and own it, you will realize the blessings; if you stubbornly refuse to own up, you will die in your sins and perish.

“Yes, it is a fact which can never be bend. The only way out of sin is by a sacrifice. ‘For the wages of sin is death,’ says the scripture. Jesus is that sacrifice that paid it for you. I don’t care how a good church member you stand out in the eyes of all, unless you repent and own up your sins, and penitently come to Jesus for mercy, you are still lost! The token of circumcision by the Holy Spirit is the only assurance that God gives to prove that you are saved. Yes, dear Pitiful, I see your head bowed, speak your heart out…”

“My brother, what shall I speak? Oh, poor me! I am indicted. Oh, have mercy on me, dear Lord,” cried Little Pitiful, “I own up this very hour! I cross the floor against my sins. I stand against the evil me. I confess it all and turn around! Clinging to his cross, I believe, at Calvary I stand. So foul has been my character, so smelly are my habits. An evil hateful nature persists in me. I stand before God twice indicted. I need a change. I cry for mercy. I am willing, Lord, help me! My offerings cannot help me. My works are filthy rags. My goodness is so smelly that it fouls all the air around. Oh God, have mercy upon me. I acknowledge the truth, the facts, that only Jesus, your holy child, can save me…

“I have tried to play church, but it has failed to loosen the least chain of sin from my heart. I have practiced every religion that the world owns to no avail. I have tried to bribe my way through by good works, but twice a wretch was the outcome.

“Just as Cain, I tried to offer to the preacher my best, but I was left a sinner still. Oh, wretched me, who shall relief my soul from this condemnation! Pity me, pity me, and pray for, brother Watchful, cry to God on my behalf! For, lo, here I stand, empty handed… naked came I into this world, and naked I must leave to face my Judge. Only God can banish my sins and cloth me in white raiment.”

“My dear Pitiful, do you truly own the facts? You mean to repent all your sins? Do you fully surrender all to Jesus your only hope?”

“Yes, my brother, with all within me! Have mercy on me, dear Lord, have mercy on me. Forgive me and cleanse me. Deliver me from the knowledge of sin. Uproot the tree of that foul, deceitful knowledge from me. I am willing, with all heart.”

“Blessed be the name of the Lord! Receive your forgiveness in the name of Jesus. He died for such people like you, who are ready to own up the facts and repent. You are forgiven by His mercy through His grace. Receive it now! He paid it all for you. believe it!”

“Oh, dear me, I receive it! A thousand times so! Forgiven? Oh, dear me… can it be? ‘I receive it…!’ cries my soul.”

“Yes, it is true, God has forgiven you through Jesus Christ, His son, whom He offered to save you. he paid for all your sins by his death. believest thou this?”

“With all heart in me I do! I believe God. I believe Jesus whom he offered for me. I believe He is able to save my soul from sin, all sin. Yes, He is able to remove sin from my door. He has the means. It is that holy blood… a bleach for sin, my sin, also.”

“That is it! And so that you may know that God has truly forgiven you, ask Him to vindicate the same by sanctifying you and filling you with the Holy Spirit. Will you?”

“With all heart within me I do! Oh, God, I believe you. Cleanse my soul from every sinful habit and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Here am I, I am willing. Unto you I come. I offer all in me to you. Receive me, dear Lord, and descend in me by the Holy Spirit. Let me be your house, a holy temple.”

“Receive it by faith in the name of Jesus Christ! Receive the Holy Spirit just now! I command you to open your heart for the Holy Spirit. Accept him!”

“Yes, my brother, my heart is open. He is my God and my Lord. My Saviour and king. Come in now, my redeemer. I own you up. I welcome you in.

“Oh, praise the Lord! Hallelujah! I receive Him! He is so good…so wonderful… so loving! Hallelujah! There He comes… oh, oh, oh, He comes in me! My God, my King, my Saviour, my all in all! Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Laud his wondrous name! how gracious, how merciful, how loving…

“‘MAN of sorrows,’ what a name

For the Son of God who came

Ruined sinners to reclaim!

Hallelujah! What a saviour!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,

In my place condemned He stood;

Sealed my pardon with His blood:

Hallelujah! What a saviour!

Guilty, vile, and helpless we,

Spotless lamb of God was He,

‘Full atonement,’ can it be?

Hallelujah! What a saviour!

Lifted up was He to die,

‘It is finished,’ was His cry,

Now in heaven exalted high;

Hallelujah! What a saviour!

When He comes our glorious King,

All His ransomed home to bring,

Then a new this song we’ll sing:

Hallelujah! What a saviour!

“There, God vindicates His word. Only Jesus can save. He saves only those who penitently come to him owning up and repenting. Friend, you have no otherwise! Don’t manufacture some other way… it will never work! Practice all religious orders you want, but be sure of this fact, that no salvation can be churned out of any of them. God provided only one way to save man from sin: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

“That stands a fact that can never bend for any man. No religious orders can bend it. God Himself cannot change it, how much less a man in dust and ashes! God never provided some religion to save sinners. He never gave us Catholicism, Protestantism, Pentecostalism, nor Branhamism, but He gave us His only son. Period! Don’t add anything on that, don’t diminish anything from it. It is perfect. It is complete. It is full. It admits no change. It is simple and clear. Jesus saves you by the blood he shed on Calvary and transforms you by the Holy Spirit. To receive this, you must own up your sins and repent penitently, and believe in God and in Jesus Christ His son.

“Facts are simple and easily understood by everyone; they constitute what is called common-sense, and you are not cheating anybody about it that you are not aware of it; aware of your sinful state; aware that your carnal nature is hateful before God and men; aware that you are guilty before God as a sinner; aware that only Jesus can save. You are only cheating yourself and frog-marching yourself to the judgement bar where you will answer for wronging simple facts, simple facts concerning your salvation.

“It is a fact that anything evil that you commit is clearly registered in your mind that you have done what you ought not, and no amount of pretense will erase such a fact. Only the blood of Jesus can do it. That is common sense. Your works cannot wash sin from your soul. All that you can offer are just like what old Cain offered. You need a holy sacrifice that sheds blood, not a mere offering! God cannot receive you outside the blood of Jesus Christ. Yes, reach out to God the Abel way!

“Your offering of money is as foul as your refuse before God! money is the root of all evil. It cannot pay your way out of sin! God never accepts the offerings of sinners. It is foolishness to try to bribe God, to appease him with a monetary offering. You can only assist your fellow man with money, but God has no use for it. God accepts you only through one offering – Jesus Christ!

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold [money], from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1Pe 1:18-19
